Teaching Maths Using the Victorian Lesson Plans

This session will provide deeper insight into the Mathematics Lesson Plans developed by the Victorian Department of Education. Sacha will discuss the Victorian Maths position statement and outline the approach to the lessons and resources that have been released to support schools with teaching maths explicitly. The Victorian Lesson Plans are freely available to all educators and this session is open to educators across Australia.

Sacha Giurietto

Sacha Giurietto is the Leading Teacher at Pleasant Street Primary School in Ballarat where she leads the approach of structured literacy, explicit maths and a whole school knowledge curriculum.

Sacha works with Ochre Education as a Maths Subject lead and convenes Think Forward Maths Network with local and international experts to bring knowledge and evidence to all teachers.
