The Read to Learn (r2L) Project

Read2Learn (r2L) is a project developing instructional materials for teaching reading comprehension within a knowledge-rich curriculum. This is an evolved approach for teaching reading comprehension explicitly and in a way that gets students focused on in-depth text.

Authors of Read2Learn

The Read2Learn work is authored by 50+ teachers and leaders across Australia working in their own time, often on evenings and weekends. The majority of the content writing has been from volunteers who are not paid - just exceptional, devoted educators who want to make a difference for teachers and students.

There are Year Level Leaders who have done hard work coordinating a team of writers. The unit writers are developing original materials that are adapted for Australia, including PowerPoints, workbooks, readings, and assessments.

Project Founders

Dr Nathaniel Swain and Shane Pearson founded Read2Learn and are still supporting the volunteers to develop the materials.
