About our guest speaker - Bradley Busch

In Education, I am the director of InnerDrive, which is one of market leaders for Teaching and Learning CPD as well as student workshops.

I am the co-author of the best-selling book The Science of Learning (which has been translated into Korean, Chinese, Spanish and Dutch) and have written regular blogs for The Guardian, as well featuring regularly for The Telegraph, the BBC 5Live, Men's Health and BT Sport.


About the Convenors

Zach Groshell is a secondary instructional coach in the Seattle area, and an experienced primary teacher. Zach holds a PhD in Education and presents often about cognitive science and education research. Zach’s recent contributions include presentations about cognitive load theory for InnerDrive’s Cognitive Science Network, and the chapter on assessment and feedback for the book, Amplifying Instructional Design. Zach hosts the podcast, Progressively Incorrect, and maintains an active professional presence on Twitter (@mrzachg) and his blog, educationrickshaw.com.

 

Christie Barrett is an experienced teacher having taught across Early Years and Primary settings in her native New Zealand, as well as London and Victoria. She is currently Head of Learning and Curriculum at an Independent Junior School in Geelong. The last 3 years have seen Christie lead a journey of change to develop and implement teaching practice in line with the Science of Learning in her school. She regularly develops and presents Professional Learning for teachers, working with a dynamic leadership team who is active in the change journey. They were recipients of the ‘The Emeritus Professor Collette Excellence in Educational Leadership’ Award, and Christie is currently part of the VCAA English curriculum review panel.

 

Kathleen O’Rourke is a teacher and aspiring middle leader in the NSW Department of Education’s FASTstream program, currently placed at Jindabyne Central School. She was a Winner of the 2022 Commonwealth Bank Schools Plus Teaching Award in the Early Career Category. Kathleen is currently completing the Master of Education in Science of Language and Reading at La Trobe University, which is what motivated her to pursue the Science of Reading, Learning and Maths.
