Improving Maths Outcomes with Universal Screening

Screening assessments like DIBELS are increasingly used in English. But what about for maths? This session outlines the experience of Docklands Primary School in using Acadience Math, an example of universal screening assessment. Learn more about the assessment and how it can be used to support school improvement.

Brad Nguyen

Brad Nguyen is a Maths Learning Specialist at Docklands Primary School. The school won the Department's award for Outstanding Inclusive Education in 2024 and was ranked first amongst similar schools for students achieving high growth in NAPLAN Numeracy. Brad's role at the school encompasses professional learning, instructional coaching, curriculum and assessment. In 2024 to 2025, he worked with the Department on the Victorian Lesson Plans for Maths. Brad is currently teaching Grade 4 Maths, Humanities and Science.
