Engaged Classrooms Through Effective Classroom Management

To support teachers in the complex task of classroom management, the Australian Education Research Organisation (AERO) is developing practical resources based on the most rigorous and relevant research evidence and guidance available from a wide range of research experts and expert practitioners across Australia and internationally.

AERO’s Principal Teaching and Learning Specialist Cate Whiting will share the evidence base behind the first suite of foundational resources and explain how they can support beginning teachers, teachers working in new environments, or experienced teachers who want to refine or refresh specific elements of their classroom management practice.  These foundational resources align with how students learn best and help teachers set up safe and supportive learning environments for all students. Plans for further resources to be released this year will also be shared, and input will be sought from webinar participants to ensure these resources best support the needs of teachers and school leaders in creating safe and supportive learning environments through effective classroom management.
