ACT Branch: Movie Night

Join the ACT Branch at a winter MOVIE NIGHT to watch the documentary "Our Dyslexic Children" (45 min).

This event will be followed by a live Q & A session with Brett Tingley who kindly accepted to join us online from Columbus, in the state of Ohio (United States)

When: Thursday 31st August

Time: 6-8pm

Where: St Bede's primary school, Red Hill

Brett Tingley is the executive producer of the film and the president of the Parents for Reading Justice https://parentsforreadingjustice.org/ & OH-KID (Ohio Kids Identified with Dyslexia) which is a statewide coalition advocating for children with reading problems http://uakid.org/about-ohkid/

She is a strong and passionate parent advocate. Her work is truly inspiring as she continues to promote evidence-based reading instruction in schools and educate parents about it. She recently won the Champion of Change at Ohio Dyslexia Summit 2023 and has also met with Ohio Governor DeWine in support of his budget to fund the Science of Reading in Ohio. Read her story (photo) and available in Jessica Colleu Terradas’s Churchill Report: “To identify effective language and literacy screening and intervention practices for at- risk students”
